Stocker (Skilled Warehouse)
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
POSTION SUMMARY:
The Stocker manages inventory of incoming and outgoing shipments from the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares items for shipment
- Receives and examines shipment contents and compares with records to verify accuracy
- Communicates any damages, shortages or nonconformance to specifications
- Utilizes forklift to move product to appropriate location in warehouse
- Unpacks and stores product in an orderly and accessible manner
- Maintains inventory of stock and supplies
- Provides assistance to other warehouse workers
- Breaks down boxes for disposal
- Cleans and maintains cleanliness of warehouse to ensure compliance with safety regulations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Forklift license
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills
- Oral Comprehension – Listening to and understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Language Skills – Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence & memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in 1 on 1 & small group situations (other employees).
- Reasoning Ability – Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Time Management – Managing one’s own time
- Problem Sensitivity – Recognizing when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Mathematical Skills – Adding & subtracting two digit numbers and ability to multiply & divide with 10’s and 100’s
